Preamble

We, the members of the Sentinels of Azeroth, unite under a shared vision to form a guild that embodies the principles of honor, unity, and exploration. This Constitution is established to uphold these ideals, fostering a community where camaraderie, respect, and the protection of Azeroth’s realms are paramount. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where every member has the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and make their mark as we safeguard the world of Azeroth together.


Article I: Guild Members’ Rights

Section 1: Equal Rights

All members of the Sentinels of Azeroth are entitled to equal rights and opportunities within the guild, regardless of rank, race, class, or personal beliefs. Discrimination in any form is strictly prohibited, ensuring that every Sentinel is treated with respect and dignity.

Section 2: Freedom of Expression

Members have the right to express their opinions, ideas, and concerns in a respectful and constructive manner. Open communication is not just encouraged but is seen as vital to promoting a healthy and inclusive guild environment where all voices are heard and valued.

Section 3: Participation

Every member has the right to actively participate in all guild activities, events, and discussions. The contributions of every Sentinel are recognized, and participation in guild life is both encouraged and appreciated, ensuring that each member feels like an integral part of the community.

Section 4: Support and Mentorship

Members have the right to seek support and mentorship from more experienced guild members, particularly from those in higher ranks. The guild is committed to fostering growth and development, offering guidance and assistance to ensure that every member can achieve their full potential within the guild.

Section 5: Fair Treatment

All members have the right to fair treatment and protection from harassment, discrimination, and any form of abuse. The guild leadership is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all members, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their time within the guild without fear of mistreatment.


Article II: Guild Ranks and Responsibilities

Section 1: Guild Leader

Role:
  • The highest authority in the guild, responsible for overall leadership and strategic direction.
Responsibilities:
  • Making final decisions, representing the guild in external affairs, and ensuring the welfare and unity of the guild.
Powers:
  • The Guild Leader has the authority to appoint and remove officers, enact guild policies, and resolve disputes. The Guild Leader must sign and enact any bill passed by the Guild Council within three days. If the Guild Leader is absent for 24 hours or more with prior notice, the Chief Councilor may fulfill this duty.

Section 2: Chief Councilor

Role:
  • The primary advisor to the Guild Leader and head of the Guild Council.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Guild Leader, ensuring council members' attendance at meetings, addressing any issues with council members, and acting as a tie-breaking vote when required.
Powers:
  • The Chief Councilor can convene council meetings, represent the Guild Leader when needed, and oversee the implementation of guild policies. The Chief Councilor may sign and enact bills if the Guild Leader is absent for over 24 hours.

Section 3: Council Members

Role:
  • A legislative body responsible for guiding the guild and making decisions on key matters
Responsibilities:
  • Attending Weekly Guild Meetings
  • Voting on Guild Issues
  • Assisting in Managing Guild Activities.
Powers:
  • Council Members Can Propose Guild Rule Changes.
  • Vote on Guild Rule Changes.
  • Promote Guild Initiates, and Members following the outlined guidelines within the Guild Constitution/ Revised Code.
  • Demote Guild Members in Reference to Guild Members breaking Guild Revised Code, or the Guild Constitution.
  • Mentor Other Guild Members.
  • Recruit New Members.

Section 4: Guardians

Role:
  • Officers Responsible for Specific Aspects of Guild Operations.
  • Includes Raid Leaders/ Event Coordinators, Guild Treasurer, Historian, or Other Varying Role.
Responsibilities:
  • Organizing Guild Events.
  • Leading Groups in Guild Activities.
  • Supporting the Guild's Objectives.
  • Mentoring Other Guild Members.
Powers:
  • Guardians Can Lead Events.
  • Recruit new members.
  • Mentor New Members.

Section 5: Elders

  • Role: Veteran members who have shown exceptional dedication and service to the guild.
  • Responsibilities: Providing mentorship, supporting guild activities, and upholding the guild’s traditions.
  • Powers: Elders can advise officers, mentor lower-ranking members, and participate in council discussions.

Section 5: Senior Raider

Role
  • The Senior Raider rank is designated for dedicated members who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge and participation in high-level PvE and PvP content. This rank recognizes players who have been part of the guild for over 90 days and have shown commitment to advancing the guild's success in organized gameplay.
Responsibilities
  • Must have been a member of the guild for over 90 days.
  • Attendance in at least three guild-organized raids, mythic dungeons, or Player vs. Player events within a specified timeframe (30 days).
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and proficiency in advanced in-game content, including the ability to strategize and lead groups effectively.
Powers
  • Senior Raiders Can Lead Events.
  • Recruit New Members
  • Mentor New Members
  • Participate in All Guild Activities
  • Receive Priority Placement in Guild-Organized Raids, Dungeon Groups, and PvP Teams.

Section 6: Senior Members

Role
  • Experienced members who actively contribute to the guild.
Responsibilities:
  • Participating in events, supporting new members, and upholding guild values.
Powers
  • Senior Members can provide feedback on guild matters and assist in recruiting and training new members.

Section 6.2: Raiders

Role:

  • Members who actively participate in high-level content such as raids, mythic dungeons, and Player vs. Player events.
  • They are recognized for their commitment to advancing the guild’s organized gameplay efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Expected to attend guild-organized raids or advanced content events, demonstrate a consistent interest in progressing within high-level gameplay, and contribute to a positive and team-oriented atmosphere.
  • They must also maintain participation in at least one raid or Player vs. Player event per month.

Powers:

  • Increased access to special repairs and enhanced bank permissions related to raiding materials.
  • They may also receive priority placement in guild-organized raids, dungeon groups, and PvP teams.

Section 7: Members

  • Role: Standard guild members who participate in activities and support the guild’s mission.
  • Responsibilities: Engaging in guild events, respecting fellow members, and contributing to a positive environment.
  • Powers: Members can participate in all guild activities and voice their opinions in discussions.

Section 8: Initiates

  • Role: New recruits who are in the process of integrating into the guild.
  • Responsibilities: Learning about the guild, participating in introductory events, and demonstrating commitment.
  • Powers: Initiates have limited power but are encouraged to participate and learn from senior members.

Article III: Guild Governance

Section 1: Meetings

Regular meetings will be held to discuss guild matters, make decisions, and ensure transparency. All members are welcome to attend and observe, but only Guild Council Members, including the Chief Councilor, have the right to vote on matters regarding guild governance.

Section 2: Decision-Making

Guild decisions, particularly those related to the Guild Constitution (G.C.) and Guild Revised Code (G.R.C.), will be made through a vote by the Guild Council Members. The Chief Councilor holds the power to act as a tie-breaking vote when necessary.

  • Guild Constitution (G.C.): Changes to the Guild Constitution require the approval of at least 66% of the Guild Council Members. This ensures that fundamental principles, such as Guild Members’ Rights and Freedoms, are protected and only altered with significant consensus.
  • Guild Revised Code (G.R.C.): Changes to the Guild Revised Code, which covers more detailed and changeable rules like Inactivity Removals and Member Joining Requirements, require a simple majority vote (51%) from the Guild Council Members.

Section 3: Amendments

Amendments to this Constitution can be made by a two-thirds majority vote of the Guild Council Members, with final approval from the Guild Leader. This process ensures that the Constitution evolves as needed while maintaining stability and protecting the core values of the guild.

Section 4: Code of Conduct

A detailed Guild Revised Code (G.R.C.) will be maintained and enforced to ensure a respectful and cooperative guild environment. Any violations will be addressed by the Guild Council, and appropriate actions will be taken to maintain order and uphold the values of the guild.


Article IV: Miscellaneous Provisions

Section 1: Communication

The guild will maintain active communication channels, including in-game chat, forums, and voice communication platforms, to facilitate coordination, build community, and ensure that all members are informed and engaged.

Section 2: Events and Activities

The guild will regularly organize events and activities, ranging from casual roleplay sessions to raids and PvP battles, to keep members engaged, foster camaraderie, and ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Section 3: Recruitment

The guild will maintain an open and inclusive recruitment policy, welcoming new members who align with our values and goals. Recruitment efforts will focus on ensuring that all new members understand and are committed to upholding the guild’s principles.


Article V: Election of the Guild Council

Section 1: Eligibility for Candidacy

Members eligible to run for the Guild Council must have been active members of the guild for at least 30 days. Eligibility also requires adherence to guild guidelines and no recent disciplinary actions.

Section 2: Candidature Submission Period

The candidature submission window opens on the 20th and closes on the 25th of each month at 11:59 pm. During this period, eligible members may declare their candidacy for the Guild Council.

Section 3: Voting Period

Guild members will vote between the 26th and the final day of the month (30th or 31st). Voting will be conducted transparently, allowing all members in good standing to participate in the decision-making process.

Section 4: Term Duration

Elected Guild Council members will serve a term of one month, beginning on the first day of the following month. Council members can run for re-election with no term limits.

Section 5: Election Results and Swearing-In

Election results will be tallied and announced on the first day of the new month. Newly elected Council members will be sworn in during the next scheduled guild meeting.

Section 6: Handling of Vacancies

In the event of a vacancy on the Guild Council due to resignation, removal, or any other reason, the Guild Leader will have the authority to appoint a temporary replacement. This appointment will remain in effect until the next regular election, at which time the position will be open for candidates.
